About William Tejler
I am a PhD student with a background in evolutionary ecology and behavioral biology.
My PhD project focuses on quantifying how mammal herbivory affects vegetation structure and the prevalence of wildfires. I am investigating this by building a mammal herbivory model and coupling it to the global vegetation model LPJ-GUESS. One of the main questions related to this project is to what extent the Quaternary extinction event (where a large part of the mammalian fauna disappeared) has affected natural vegetation patterns and wildfire regimes. Along with my research, I also teach a variety of courses in evolutionary biology, ecology, bioinformatics, faunistics, and floristics.
