About Kristina Hagström-Ståhl

Kristina Hagström-Ståhl is Professor of performative arts at the Academy of Music and Drama, and PARSE (Platform for Artistic Research Sweden). She works at the intersection of critical theory and performance practice, with research interests in feminist and decolonial theory, questions of visuality, dramaturgy, and translation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the arts. She also works as a director, with productions at Göteborgs Stadsteater och Folkteatern Göteborg, among others.

Kristina has a Ph.D. in performance studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and has held research and teaching positions at UC Berkeley, California College of the Arts, Lund University, and Stockholm University of the Arts. She is a member of the steering group of KvinnSam, as well as the artistic advisory board at Göteborgs Stadsteater; she has previously served on the Swedish Research Council’s Committee for artistic research, and on the board of the Nordic Theatre Scholar’s Association.

In 2018-19 Kristina is heading the Intersectional Engagements in Politics and Art research arc within PARSE.
