About Christina Persson

Present employment

Is currently employed as Senior Lecturer (universitetslektor) at the Sahlgrenska academy at Gothenburg University and as a clinical Speech-Language Pathologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The position is conjoint with the Department of Speech Language Pathology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The main interest in clinical work, teaching and research is speech disorders in patients born with cleft lip and palate or genetic syndromes, mainly 22q11 deletion syndrome. Member of the Gothenburg cleft palate team since 1991 and of the 22q11 deletion syndrome team since 1997.

Teaching interests

Supervises master’s theses and a PhD students.

Research interests

My research interest has three main focuses:

Speech in children, adolescents and young adults born with cleft lip and palate
Speech in children, adolescents and adults born with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome
Methodologies for assessment of articulation, hypernasality and intelligibility
