In response to the question of what are our cultural institutions to do in response to a changing political context of rising ethno-nationalism, right wing populism and a break down of public discourse, the modest proposition of desegregation - along 'class' and 'colour' lines - is proposed for the contemporary art academy. This emerges then as a demand the demand: desegregate so that new collectivities may determine what is to be done.
