There are inherent restrictions on organisms's ability to change its behaviour. However, adaptation is necessary for individuals to survive or take advantage of sudden opportunities. My focus is on exploring how flexible fish behaviour is in response to chronic stress, repeated social defeat, in zebrafish with divergent inherent phenotypes (proactive vs. reactive stress coping styles). Additionally, I will examine how fish behaviour is modified by the exposure to certain environmental pollutants, such as antidepressants, analgesics, and illicit drugs
