Swedish Linguistics A, Introductory Course

Swedish Linguistics A, Introductory Course, 30 credits suits students who are interested in the analyzing the Swedish language on all levels. The course consists of four reading packages. The first section, Introduction, provides an overview of the semester and how the reading packages relate to one another. Then follows The Swedish language in society, which covers linguistic variation in the Swedish language depending on social factors such as age, gender, and geography. The section Structure of the Swedish language deals with syntactic analysis of the Swedish language in use. Lastly, students engage in hands on analysis of written and spoken language in The language in text and speech. The course language is Swedish.
