Women in forensic psychiatric care (FOR-WOMEN).

The aim of FOR-WOMEN is to study forensic psychiatric in-patient care for women. To our knowledge there are only a few studies focusing women’s experience of the ward atmosphere and the care relationships.
Since the care actions and the ward atmosphere often are adopted to the care of male patients, it is important to study these aspects deeper and a more systematized manner to be able to understand how the care for women could be organized and performed.
To create a clearer knowledgebase we are going to perform qualitative as well as quantitative studies, such as interviews, questionnaire and observational studies. By doing this we aim to generate more knowledge about how nursing staff can care for the women and give them better conditions to have an independent life after hospitalization.
