About

The course is an introduction to the different themes that are included in the field global health. Examples of international efforts, such as work with the United Nations, Sustainable Development Goals, are presented and discussed with special focus on how to work for improved health equity. The global burden of disease is presented and discussed on the basis of regional variation, different social determinants (poverty, gender etc), communicable and non-communicable diseases' spread and preventive actions. The course discusses also briefly challenges for the heath systems in different
countries to contribute to fulfillment of all people' right to best possible health to treatment and prevention of illness.

Prerequisites and selection

Entry requirements

A Bachelor's degree or professional qualification corresponding to at least 180 credits or the equivalent. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.
