Offentlig politik och förvaltning
Kort beskrivning
Forskningen inom området offentlig politik och förvaltning rör dels frågor om möjligheten för politiskt valda församlingar – till exempel riksdag, kommun- och landstingsfullmäktige – att utöva samhällsstyrning, dels de enskilda medborgarnas relationer till olika myndigheter och kommunala serviceverksamheter, dels analys av offentliga reformprograms tillkomst, genomförande och resultat. Området rymmer också studier av regionernas nya roller och former för politisk styrning och "governance".
Forskningsfrågor
- Hur påverkar statens förändrade roll, globaliseringen och de nya internationella institutionerna den offentliga politikens innehåll?
- Hur påverkar sättet att organisera förvaltningen politikens innehåll och utfall?
- Vilka möjligheter har staten att i samverkan med andra aktörer styra samhället och ekonomin och vad får det för konsekvenser?
- Vad betyder förvaltningspolitiken för demokratins funktionssätt och för medborgarnas levnadsvillkor?
