Tobias Gebäck är forskarassistent i tillämpad matematik och medlem i forskningscentret SuMo Biomaterials. Hans forskningsområde är matematisk modellering och numeriska metoder, med tillämpningar inom masstransport i mjuka, porösa material. Målet är att designa nya material för att kontrollera frisättningen av läkemedel i kroppen och nya material för blöjor och andra absorberande produkter, för att nämna några möjligheter. Tobias Gebäck forskar också kring matematiska modeller för transport av laddade partiklar, med tillämpningar inom strålbehandling av cancertumörer.
