Publicerad

Yu-Wei Chang from the Department of Physics has been awarded one of the Gun and Bertil Stohnes Foundation Prizes for PhD students. His research is focused on deep learning analysis of longitudinal tau pathology.

Hej Yu-Wei! Congratulations! Could you tell us a little bit about your research?

"My research focuses on applying artificial intelligence techniques to analyze brain neuroimaging data for predicting the progression of Alzheimer's disease in its early stages."

How does it feel to be selected for this prize?

"Being selected for this prize is a significant recognition of the work I've been doing for my PhD, with invaluable support from my supervisors, Prof. Giovanni Volpe at GU and Prof. Joana Pereira at KI, along with their research groups. It's incredibly motivating and encourages me to continue pushing boundaries in this field."

How will you celebrate?

"As for celebrating, I plan to indulge in some well-deserved bubble tea with my partner. It's become somewhat of a tradition for us, as I first tried bubble tea as a kid during its inception in Taiwan in the 1990s. It's a delightful treat that brings back fond memories of my childhood!"
