About the education
It is becoming increasingly important for companies to integrate sustainability aspects into strategies, operational activities, and communication with stakeholders. The course builds upon your knowledge from previous courses in business administration, focusing on how sustainability aspects are linked to many tasks performed in companies.
Course Package Contents
The course package consists of two parts. The first part is a theoretical course taught in English, and in the second part, you will write a bachelor's thesis. The theoretical course consists of four components. Course syllabus for the theoretical course
Sustainable Strategies and Assets
Sustainable strategies and assets cover how sustainability is integrated into a company's long-term planning. You will learn about arguments for sustainable business, strategies, and asset valuation.
Sustainable Operational Management
Sustainable operational management provides you with knowledge of how sustainability aspects can be integrated into the company's management and control functions. This includes learning about the company's supply chain, procurement function, and environmental cost accounting.
Sustainable Accounting and Marketing
Sustainable accounting and marketing focus on stakeholder communication, sustainability reporting, consumer relations, and certifications.
Research in Sustainable Business In the course, Research in Sustainable Business, you will choose a specific topic within sustainable business and formulate a research question within the subject.
Bachelor's Thesis, 15 credits
The semester concludes with a bachelor's thesis.
Skills
The aim is to deepen your knowledge of business administration by analyzing how sustainability aspects are integrated into corporate operations. Case studies and real-life examples will be used to help you apply general concepts in practical situations.
After graduation
After completing the education, you can, for example, work as an environmental strategist/controller or project manager focusing on change and economics.
Facilities
Most of the School of Business, Economics, and Law's activities are located at Vasagatan 1, but we also have facilities at Viktoriagatan 13. Additionally, at the Vasagatan 1 premises, you'll find the Economics Library, which is several floors high and has many study places.
Prerequisites and selection
Eligibility
Admission to the course requires at least 105 university credits, of which at least 45 credits must be from the following courses: FEK101 Business Administration, Organization and Leadership, 7.5 credits; FEK102 Business Administration, Marketing, 7.5 credits; FEK103 Business Administration, Financial Accounting, 7.5 credits; FEK104 Business Administration, Management Accounting, FEK201 Business Administration, Strategic Marketing Management, 7.5 credits; FEK202 Business Administration, Strategy, 7.5 credits; FEK203 Business Administration,Economic and Financial Management, 7.5 credits; and FEK204 Business Administration, Operations Management, 7.5 credits. Alternatively, credits can be from FEG100 Business Administration 1, Introductory course, 30 credits, and FEG200 Business Administration 2, Intermediate course 30 credits, or equivalent courses.
