This project establishes a theoretical collaboratioon between CARe and the Centre for Collective Action Research (CeCAR) at UGOT, and aims to investigate and develop theoretical models of importance to other activities in both centers. The focus of the project regards different kinds and forms of normative and value stances - ethical, political and others - and how they should be understood, generally as well as in relation to practical interventions and attempts, the understanding public views and attitudes, and the exploration of incentives to instigate change at different levels. This regards everything from ethical challenges to R&D of new antibiotic compounds or new energy production systems to institutional, political and regulative action on national and multinational levels, and intermediate challenges such as tensions between different institutional or prefessional ethical standards (e.g. clinical medicine and public health), or public attitudes resisting or impeding otherwise desirable change, e.g. due to collective action problems.
