Björn Wikhamn är professor i management och organisation på Företagsekonomiska institutionen, Handelshögskolan vid Göteborgs universitet. Han disputerade vid samma universitet år 2007 och blev docent 2013.
Hans forskningsintresse ligger huvudsakligen inom organisering av innovationsprocesser. Dagens företag, små som stora, står inför ett förändrat affärslandskap jämfört med bara för några år sedan, med starka drivkrafter som digitalisering, artificiell intelligens och hållbarhet. För att möta de nya kraven börjar allt fler företag öppna upp sina organisationsgränser och samarbetar med externa aktörer i innovationsskapandet, såsom med leverantörer, användare, olika samhällsorganisationer och med andra företag. Björn har genom åren studerat öppen innovation i många olika industrier (ex. pharma, automotive och dataspel), och har den senaste tiden haft ett specifikt fokus på hur stora företag faciliterar innovationssamverkan med små företag genom olika former av innovationshubbar. Hans forskning innefattar även områden som strategi, HR, och företagsutveckling och han antar ofta explorativa, praktik-orienterade och interaktiva forskningsansatser.
Björn är akademiskt ansvarig för Matix – Management av Tillväxt (http://www.matix.se), som är en magisterkurs i Företagsekonomi med fokus på innovation, strategi, affärsutveckling, förändringsledning och hållbart ledarskap. Ett centralt inslag i undervisningen är att studenten parallellt med det akademiska arbetet matchas med ett partnerföretag som under läsåret från olika perspektiv analyseras utifrån dess specifika situation och omvärld. Kursinnehållet bygger således till stor del på ett interaktivt lärande vilket innebär att kunskapen internaliseras och utmanas genom praktisk tillämpning och reflektion. Björn undervisar bland annat i innovation management, kreativitet, och affärsmodeller för hållbar tillväxt i ett förändrat affärslandskap. Han är examinator för hela Matix-programmet och är modulansvarig för magisteruppsatserna.
