Om Haley Mcewen

Haley McEwen är postdoktor vid Göteborgs universitet.

Haley avslutade sin doktorsexamen i sociologi vid University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Hon har en MPhil i Critical Diversity Studies från University of Cape Town och en BA i sociala relationer från Michigan State University. Innan hon började på GenDip var hon seniorforskare vid Wits Center for Diversity Studies (WiCDS) vid University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Haleys doktorandforskning undersökte hur och varför USA:s kristna höger har arbetat för att påverka afrikansk politik för genus och sexualitet. För sin postdoktorala forskning kommer hon att ytterligare undersöka de geopolitiska dimensionerna av afrikansk familjevänlig diskurs och rörelsebyggande, särskilt i relation till bilaterala relationer mellan afrikanska stater och de mellan afrikanska stater och västerländska, såväl som "nya" globala aktörer. Haleys forskning har publicerats i Critical Philosophy of Race, Critical African Studies, Development Southern Africa, The African Journal of Rhetoric, and Africa Today samt i populära medier inklusive The Conversation, openDemocracy och Rantt Media. Haley är en nationellt rankad forskare i Sydafrika (National Research Foundation) och senior fellow vid Far Right Analysis Network (tidigare känt som Center for Analysis of the Radical Right). Haley är också associerad redaktör för International Journal of Critical Diversity Studies.
