Colloquium Global Childhoods
The colloquium global childhoods will enable participants to develop an understanding of how changing perspectives on children and childhood and identity over time and through globalization, are expressed among children, families and educators in and outside educational environments.
We also aim to, through "local" perspectives, develop an understanding of contemporary ideals about children and childhood. Childhood is described as a time period between birth to 18 years.
We will in the colloquia:
- build and develop our knowledge of global childhoods, both nationally and internationally.
- promote increased knowledge of global childhoods. This may apply to teacher education at the Faculty of Education as well as across the faculty boundaries at the University of Gothenburg. The colloquia is also aimed at other interested people, such as professional teachers, preschool teachers, psychologists, social workers, active in aid organizations and others who in their everyday lives meet children and childhood from a global perspective.;
- support internationalization through global childhoods as a path to cultural diversity and acceptance.
- develop and support research knowledge among students and employees at the university in the long term to increase the research field and build knowledge within global childhoods.
