In this research seminar we present ongoing research at the University of Gothenburg, School of Global Studies andMalmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare (MIM),  Malmö University on the topic of refugee housing in Sweden. We bridge three different examples, the governance of housing in terms of newly introduced laws and practices, quantitative analysis on refugees’ housing trajectories, and a case study on temporary housing for newly arrived refugees in Gothenburg. Refugee housing has been politicized and conflictual with many interests involved. Our aim in this seminar is to provide an interdisciplinary basis of analysis of recent and ongoing debates on housing from the national level to the applied planning on the municipal level.
