About
In this course, you are introduced to academic studies in English with a focus on reading, writing, and speaking in a university setting. You learn to identify and analyze argumentation in academic texts and to develop an understanding of different academic genres.
The course provides practice in expressing yourself accurately and appropriately in English—both in writing and speech—and is based on authentic texts and tasks that reflect real academic demands. Through seminars, you work actively with your own and others’ texts, discussing and reflecting critically on content and structure. You also practice oral presentations and written essays with the aim of strengthening your ability to communicate effectively in an academic context.
The course is particularly suitable if you plan to continue your studies in English-medium courses or subjects where teaching and assessment are conducted in English, and it is taught in the form of seminars with English as the language of instruction.
The course has scheduled online classes.
