Two GU-students in the Grön Utopi final
Two of the four students who have been selected for the Grön Utopi (”Green Utopia”) final are from the University of Gothenburg. The final is taking place April 7, 2022 and can be viewed online.
Grön Utopi is arranged by the French Institute in Sweden (a section of the Embassy of France in Sweden) and is a part of the French and Swedish strategic partnership for innovation and green solutions. For this competition, students were challenged to present ideas for a greener, more sustainable Europe. The first prize is a trip to Strasbourg, France, where the winner will present their proposal to representatives of the European Parliament.
Both of the University of Gothenburg students who have been chosen to compete in the final study at the Department of Political Science.
Amadou Bagayegou
Amadou studies the Political Science programme. His entry addresses the role of the financial market in the environmental crisis, the responsibility of the financial actors, and how sustainable investments could be a solution: Sustainable investment – The role of the financial market.
Ruben Rick
Ruben Rick studies in the European studies programme with a concentration in business administration. Ruben’s proposal deals with the potential benefits of creating European-level legislation on emission disclosure in passenger air travel: Carbon emissions disclosure in passenger air travel.

The Grön Utopi final is taking place on April 7 from 14:30-17:30 at Europahuset in Stockholm, but can also be watched online via Zoom.
