Supporting children’s language diversity through Play-Responsive Teaching

This presentation explores what it means to be responsive and supportive to children’s diverse languages. Drawing on my research, I will share examples of interactions between bi-/multilingual teachers and children during digital storytelling activities. We will discuss key concepts such as translanguaging, play-responsive teaching, and semiotic repertoires—translating them into practical strategies that can be applied in preschool classrooms to foster inclusive environments.
