Guest Researcher: Arin Y. Savran
Arin Y. Savran will attend the guest researcher programme at the School of Global Studies during the autumn semester 2020.
Arin Y. Savran’s research focuses on the Kurdish armed conflicts in Turkey and Syria, and more recently on the question of post-conflict reconciliation in Northern Ireland. During her stay at the School of Global Studies, she will work on completing a number of research articles.
Arin holds an undergraduate degree in International Relations and Politics from the University of Gothenburg and a master’s degree in International Relations from Loughborough University, UK. In 2018, she completed her PhD in Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, UK, with her doctoral thesis titled, ‘Why Peace Processes fail: A Conceptual Analysis of the Peace Talks between Turkey and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), 2009-2015’.
Previously, Arin was a Scholar-in-Residence at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, University of Notre Dame, United States, and a Visiting Scholar at Trinity College Dublin at Belfast, Northern Ireland. Currently, Arin works as a Research Data Advisor at the Swedish National Data Service.
