Study Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology offers a Master’s programme in Chemistry and a challenging Master's Programme in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry. You can also choose among our many stand-alone courses, all linked to world-leading research.

Master's programmes and stand-alone courses

Chemistry

Our Master's programme in Chemistry allows you to create your own unique scientific profile according to your interests and future goals. You can also study the predefined track in neurobiochemistry, an interdisciplinary education between chemistry, molecular biology and medicine. Current research is incorporated into the teaching. You will have the opportunity to practise your learning and develop a specialization with the possibility to perform an individual laboratory-based project of up to one year in one of our top research groups.

Organic and Medicinal Chemistry

The Master’s Programme in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry provides you in-depth knowledge in the design and synthesis of substances that form the basis of new medicines and exciting new materials. Current research is incorporated into the teaching. You will have the opportunity to practise your learning and develop a specialization towards either organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry with the possibility to perform an individual laboratory-based project of up to one year in one of our research groups.

Stand-alone courses in Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology offers a wide range of courses in English within the field of Chemistry, both on a basic (Bachelor’s) level and on an advanced (Master’s) level.

Please contact our study counsellor Per Martin Björemark if you have any questions. He will help and guide you so that you can make well-informed decisions.
