Bakgrund
Jag är ST-läkare i psykiatri på Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset (SU) samt forskargruppledare på Göteborgs Universitet (GU) med finansiering från Wallenbergcentrum för molekylär och translationell medicin samt Vetenskapsrådet. Innan dess doktorerade jag samt läste medicin på Karolinska Institutet och teknisk fysik på Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan. Min avhandling handlade om neurala nätverk och kalciumsignalering. Därefter var jag postdoc hos Mikael Landén på GU 2017-2019 samt forskar-AT-läkare på SU.
Forskningsintresse
Nu är min forskning inriktad på bl.a. bipolär sjukdom, med betoning på neural utveckling. Min forskningslinje berör hur defekt utveckling av neurala nätverk leder till manifest psykiatrisk sjukdom, med särskilt fokus på kalciumkanalgenen CACNA1C. För tillfället utvecklar vi IPS-cellbaserade modeller av patienter i kombination med studier på data från patienter.
