Om Juho Lindman

Juho Lindman is Professor of Information Systems at the Department of Applied Information Technology, University of Gothenburg, and Director of the University of Gothenburg Blockchain Lab. His research examines how openness shapes the development, governance, and use of information systems (esp. open source software development, blockchain governance, open data, and organizational change). He publishes in information systems journals and conferences, and has received the Journal of Information Technology Best Paper Award for 2023. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Information Technology and Electronic Markets.

Lindman received his doctorate from the Aalto University School of Economics in Helsinki. Before joining the University of Gothenburg, he served as Assistant Professor of Information Systems Science at the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki. He is a docent at the University of Gothenburg and also holds the title of Docent of Openness in Systems Development and Use in the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Oulu, Finland.

Lindman has a long-standing relationship with SCANCOR (the Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research). He was a SCANCOR scholar at Stanford University in 2012 and 2015, and a visiting scholar with the SCANCOR–Weatherhead Partnership at Harvard University in 2019 and again in 2026. He was also a visiting research scholar at the London School of Economics in 2010.
