About Alexandra Herlitz

Alexandra Herlitz (née Reiff) is an Associate Professor in Art History and Visual Studies at the Department of Cultural Sciences at the University of Gothenburg.

She studied Art History, German Studies and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Stuttgart, the Heinrich-Heine University of Düsseldorf, the University of Hamburg and the University of Gothenburg. Herlitz received her doctoral degree in 2013 with her dissertation Grez-sur-Loing revisited. The international artists' colony in a different light. In October 2024 she was appointed as Associate Professor in Art History and Visual Studies.

Herlitz has also been active as a museum educator at the Gothenburg Museum of Art since 2006.
