About Nestor González Roldán

Hej! I’m Nestor González Roldán, and I have the privilege of leading the Pollen Lab at Gothenburg University. My academic background covers chemistry, pharmacy, and biology, with a specialization in immunology during my master’s and PhD studies. Originally from Mexico, my research journey has taken me through diverse health-related projects, including studies on sepsis, influenza virus infection, glycolipid biochemistry in parasites, mast cell function, Natural Killer cells, allergy and asthma, and ultimately, pollen research in the field of Aerobiology (bioaerosols).

After spending much of my career in Germany, I relocated to Gothenburg in May 2023 to take on this exciting role. My approach to research is open-minded and collaborative, I'm deeply curious about how nature and our environment impact human health. I’m passionate about fostering a collaborative and innovative lab environment where curiosity thrives.
