About
This biostatistics and epidemiology course provides the skills needed to gather and analyze data, and interpret results for different activities within medical research and public health studies. Essentially, this course provides a fundamental understanding and practices of biostatistics and epidemiology through a series of lectures and other sessions, such as computer exercises and seminars, on theories and problem-solving while also introducing and applying statistical tools (Stata software).
During the course period, participants will discuss, through lectures and exercises, fundamental theories and practices of biostatistics and epidemiology and apply the gained knowledge through organized individual and group exercises.
Prerequisites and selection
Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree or professional degree qualification corresponding to at least 180 credits or equivalent, within the main areas of health science or social science. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.
Entrance requirements valid from VT25: Qualification for admission to the course requires professional degree/Bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in a health science, social science, science, economics, arts or engineering field of education and grade Passed/E in English B/English 6.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
