EUTOPIA Diversity and Inclusion Month 2024

The Author: Dr. Petra Videmšek is a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Ljubljana. She was the lead for the EUTOPIA Inclusion work package in EUTOPIA2050 which resulted in the EUTOPIA Inclusion Framework and EUTOPIA MORE Inclusion Manifesto. Most recently, in June 2024, she took over the management of the newly established Office for Equality and Inclusion (PEV) at the University of Ljubljana.

In this roundtable we gather different voices from EUTOPIA to discuss their varied perspectives on how we approach our missions in education, research, innovation and external engagements toward inclusive excellence.  

EUTOPIA is an alliance of ten European Universities and six global partners, committed to transforming our universities into open, inclusive, diverse and innovative enablers for outreach impact on societies. Through shared commitments and coherence in common efforts, our goal is to  ensure that EUTOPIA is student-empowering, committed to the principles of openness and inclusion, geared towards the challenges of the future and at the service of society.  During the duration of the pilot phase (2020-2022), the EUTOPIA Inclusion Framework (presenting five core principles, a roadmap to inclusive practice and inclusion case studies) and the EUTOPIA MORE Inclusion manifesto were developed. In EUTOPIA MORE, inclusion is transversal and will be embedded in all its activities and practices.

The University of Gothenburg and the Gothenburg branch of the Support Group Network invite you to a follow-up workshop of "Make Your Own Passport," which was held during Frihamnsdagarna 2024. The event will provide a space for meetings, continued dialogues, and reflections on intercultural encounters and communication, values, inclusion, and exclusion. The workshop aims to promote intercultural understanding and mutual respect.
