Abstract

This paper critically examines the logical and metaphysical presuppositions underlying Correia and Rosenkranz's criterion of temporal dynamicity, which maintains that existence varies with time. I argue that the underlying free logic permits two distinct interpretations of fundamentality: either the totality of possible temporal entities is fundamental, with actual ones merely indexed, or—as I defend—presently existing entities themselves constitute the fundamental ontological basis, with other temporal entities becoming derivative through temporal passage. This distinction carries significant implications for our understanding of temporal reality, challenging predominant assumptions about the metaphysical structure of dynamic time and offering a more robust account of how existence genuinely varies across temporal dimensions.
