Centre for European Studies
The Center for European Studies (CES) is a multidisciplinary cooperation between nine university disciplines that together form the basis for the subject of European Studies. We offer the two-year Master's Programme in European Studies as well as a wide range of single subject courses. There is also the possibility of exchange studies, a double degree, and internship.
Together with the successful international multidisciplinary research institution Centre for European Research (CERGU) we are a vital part of the complete European academic environment at the University of Gothenburg. CERGU played a major role in the decision to award the University of Gothenburg the distinction of becoming a Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence in 1998.
Award winning student group
We support and co-work with the student organization Brännpunkt Europa, that has been awarded the price “Guldtummen” for their work on organizing lectures on current political events. The list of events is impressive! Among the speakers, we find researchers and activists as well as top politicians and journalists. Since it is an international student group all lectures are held in English.
