Stroke takes lives. Every 17 minutes someone in Sweden suffers a stroke. For those who are affected and survive, the road to recovery is usually long and arduous. Many never recover, and are forced to live the rest of their lives with severe disabilities. There are many things we can do to turn the development around and lessen the suffering that stroke causes, as well as the cost it entails for society.
We are the prerequisites of each other
Stroke Centre West is a close cooperation between Region Västra Götaland, University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. Our ambition is to create the best stroke care in Europe. To reach that goal we have to pursue scientific research and development at the absolute forefront.
