Bachelor's programme in Jewellery Art
The bachelor’s programme in jewellery art is rooted in material, technique and artistic processes. Based on your chosen concentration in jewellery art, you’ll explore the relationship between jewellery and the people who wear it. The foundation of the programme is your own personal artistic expression, which you are given time and space to develop. The programme is the only one of its kind in the Nordic region.
The jewellery programme weaves together theory and practice, challenging you to think and create independently and critically. In the beginning, our focus is on material and technique; later you’ll be guided toward increasingly independent and complex work in the discipline. A portion of the curriculum is organised as discussion seminars on topics related to artistic creation and your role as a practising jewellery artist.
Our instructors, who specialise in various artistic disciplines, guide and support you in your development. Courses are also given in special techniques such as casting, enamelling and forging.
Courses in visual expression, history, writing, communication and theory development in crafts, art and design are given together with students from the programmes in ceramic art and textile art.
NOTE! The programme is conducted in Swedish, except for semesters when exchange students attends. Applicants who wish to attend the full programme must be proficient in Swedish or another Scandinavian language and be able to demonstrate this through either grades or a Swedish test for higher education. The full programme description and information about how to apply may be found on the Swedish site.
