Ingela Lundgren är professor emerita i reproduktiv och perinatal hälsa. Hon utbildades till sjuksköterska 1978 och barnmorska 1986 och har främst arbetat inom förlossningsvård. Ingela har tidigare haft uppdrag som ställföreträdande prefekt vid Högskolan i Borås 2005-2008. Vidare var hon prefekt för Institutionen för vårdvetenskap och hälsa 2010-2018. Hon ingår i ett flertal nationella och internationella forskningssamarbeten inom barnafödande.
Forskning Ingela forskar inom området barnafödande med fokus på förlossningen i ett historiskt perspektiv, normalt barnafödande, betydelsen för kvinnors liv, vårdmodeller, kvinnors upplevelser och professionellt stöd.
