About Heléne Aronsson

My research interests include macroecology, biogeography, human impact on biodiversity and the ecology of birds. My PhD project focuses on estimating the effect of land use on biodiversity. Within the project we apply macroecological theories and use big data and remote sensing data to quantify how birds respond to changes in land use.

Apart from my research interests I am passionate about pedagogy and spreading the knowledge we researchers gain to society. I also believe in the importance of encouraging and guiding young people in entering research. Because of this I have been a proud member of the jury for the semifinals in Unga forskare for a couple of years and I also give talks on the topic of biodiversity to school kids of various ages at the Innovatum Science Center from time to time.

I am very open to new opportunities for outreach so do not hesitate to contact me with any ideas or requests. I am happy to talk about birds, biodiversity and human impact on biodiversity.
