JAN YNGWE , conductor and composer, also Professor Superior in Choir and Conducting at the Academy of Music and Drama, Göteborg University and is considered one of the most outstanding conductors of his generation in Sweden.
He studied conducting in London, Salzburg and Siena and has conducted all first rate Swedish orchestras, such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Stockholm, Göteborg Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Jan Yngwe is also an internationally highly demanded course director and an inspired lecturer.
He is the well known leader of Vocal Art Ensemble of Sweden , a powerful voice in the swedish and international community. They have made numerous recordings of contemporary music, toured around the world and frequently appeared in radio and television: www.vocalartensemble.se
His production as a composer (he is a member of the Society of Swedish Composerts since 1988) is dominated by choir and orchestral music.
He is also since decades conductor for the Chamber Choir at the Academy of Music and Drama, Gorthenburg University.
In 2004 Jan Yngwe was awarded one of the finest Swedish distinctions for musicians, the ”Johannes Norrby Medal”, for his achievements within the field of Swedish choir-singing. He was also awarded ”Choral Conductor of the Year 2015” for his superb artistic quality and devotion, both on the national and international stage of choral music.
