Jayeon Lee
Senior Lecturer
Department of Social WorkAbout Jayeon Lee
formerly Lindellee
I defended my doctoral dissertation in Social Work at Lund University 2018. In my doctoral thesis I studied changes in the Swedish unemployment insurance program in recent decades, by analyzing institutional changes and their distributive consequences.
My research interests include labor market policy and social policy, social security systems, civil society organizations and sustainable welfare. More specifically I am currently interested in the following areas:
- Public acceptance for eco-social policy measures addressing the carbon footprints of the rich. I am leading a research project (2024-2027, financed by FORMAS) Regulating the Polluter Elite: Exploring policy measures limiting carbon footprints of the rich. I am also participating in another related research project, Economic Elites in the Climate Change Transformation: Practices, justifications and regulations of unsustainable lifestyles in Sweden.
- Sustainable welfare within the planetary boundaries - beyond productivism/the growth-based welfare state. I was part of a research project (2020-2023, financed by Swedish Energy Agency) Sustainable welfare for a new generation of social policy
- Leaders of civil society organisations. I was part of a research program (2018-2023, financed by RJ) Civil society elites? Comparing elite composition, reproduction, integration and contestation in European civil societies
- Social partners' new role in transition support and skill development in Sweden
I am part of the following research networks:
- Sustainable Welfare & Eco-social Policy Network (Country representative for Sweden)
- Postgrowth Nordics
- ENOUGH - International Network for Sufficiency Research & Policy
- European Network for Social Policy Analysis
- Sustainability Transitions Research Network
As a senior lecturer I teach in the BA and MA level social work programs. Topics I teach include social policy, social security system, inequality, climate justice, eco-social policy, etc.
