About Jenny Kronman
Background I am a social worker with previous experience of working with youth and migration and at the social services with refugees. I also have been working with the question of undocumentedness. Before I became a social worker I studied documentary film in Chile and participated in youth projects in Bolivia working with media and "popular education" (folkbildning in Swedish).
Research My areas of interest are rights based issues regarding legal status, migration and sexuality from a critical power perspective. I am also interested in issues regarding social mobilization and social justice.
Research project The title of my research project is "Sex in Borderlands" where I examine how Swedish politics of gender equality and migration control affect persons who sell sex, both migrants and Swedish citizens. Focus is on access to rights and experiences of discrimination. I interview people with experiences of selling sex but also social workers, police and NGOs to be able to analyze the social, economical and political situation for those who sell sex in Sweden today.
