Johanna Larsdal is PHD student in Religious Studies, focusing on Biblical Studies/the New Testament. Her thesis is focusing on how the ante-Nicene father Justin Martyr's rhetorically deals with the Nativity narratives in relation to his disparate addressees in the Dialogue with Trypho and the First Apology. The project is superviced by docent Tobias Hägerland (University of Gothenburg), doctor Gunnar Samuelsson (University of Gothenburg) and docent Kamilla Skarström Hinojosa (University of Gothenburg).
Johanna's research interests mainly concern the birth of Jesus in the New Testament, rhetoric in the New Testament and the early Christ movement, the Birth of Jesus in the early Christ movement, Biblical theology and early Christian theology concerning the birth of Jesus as well as connections between biblical texts and the world in which the originated (Near Eastern and Greco-Roman history and archaeology).
