About Johan Severinson
I work in the "Zorro group", investigating algal mats consisting of perennial algae, such as Fucus serratus and Furcellaria lumbricalis. These algal mats are problematic as they counteract the recovery and restoration efforts of eelgrass (Zostera marina). My research will investigate the origin and connectivity of these mats using genetics and orthophotography, but also their ecology by compairing their associated fauna to that of attached algae and eelgrass.
