About Josefina Posch

Josefina Posch is an artist, curator, and educator currently Senior Lecturer in Fine Art and Director of the BFA Fine Art Program at HDK-Valand. She is an elected representative in the Steering Group for KUNO – a Nordplus network comprising 18 Nordic-Baltic fine art academies and between 2020-2022 she was the Director of Studies for the MFA Programs at HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg.

In her artistic practice and research, she is engaged in the expanded field of sculpture where the negotiation with a specific situation plays a central role in material investigations of environmental and sustainability concerns.

As an internationally active artist, she has participated in exhibitions and artist-in-residencies in the Nordic countries, Europe, the USA, Canada, Cuba, China, India and Georgia. Grants awarded include The Swedish Arts Grant Committee, IASPIS International Collaboration Grant, Göteborg City Arts Council, The Nordic Ministry of Culture, Step-Beyond European Cultural Foundation, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, NY, Artist Enhancement Grant, Division of Cultural Affairs Miami, Arts Council England / British Arts Council International Collaboration Grant and the Dena Foundation, Italy.

In 2010 she founded Snowball Cultural Productions as a platform for her curatorial work which includes SculptureHUB - a forum and network aimed at women sculptors.
