Spelling in international publications: Karin C. Harding
Karin Harding is senior lecturer in ecology at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences. She works with population dynamics of marine mammals and how the are affected by various stressors such as epidemics, climate change and hunting. Main approaches are population surveys and mathematical modelling.
Research questions:
- How do environmental factors influence life histories and thereby population dynamics of marine mammals?
- How are population growth and extinction risk influenced by population structure, infectious diseases and other environmental stressors?
We follow the population trends of harbour seals, grey seal and ringed seals in particular and work in interdisciplinary teams. For an update on ongoing projects see: https://sites.google.com/view/sealpopulationdynamics/home
