About Lennart Svensson

PhD dissertation in sociology 1978 on university history. His main career has been as researcher, lecturer and tutor at the University of Gothenburg. He was promoted to professor in sociology 2002 and appointed as professor II at the University College in Oslo 2005. Since 2009 he is prof. em. in sociology.

Research interests Research fields have been sociology of work, education, youth, occupation and profession; currently, more focused to sociology of occupation and profession. The last and recent research projects concerns the Swedish professional landscape, in collaboration with The University of Lund and The Linnaeus University.

Networks Svensson is member of the Swedish National network and the Nordic network (NORDPRO) in studies of professions. He is a member of the Swedish, the European and the International Sociological Associations with special devotion to research groups in studies of professions.
