About Marita Blomkvist

Marita Blomkvist is active in research, teaching and collaboration with the surrounding community. Her research is about external reporting and auditing in private companies from the perspective of both producers and users. Accounting quality in different types of private companies and its effect on the cost of borrowed capital as well as the role of external reporting and communication with the accountant for entrepreneurs' strategic decision-making are examples of her research. Today, she works with research that concerns auditor selection, accounting regulation and harmonization of Sustainability reporting in large companies as well as implementation of Sustainability Regulation in the company's practice. Her studies have received the Emerald Literati Award for Highly Commended article (2019) and the Emerald Literati Award for Outstanding article (2021). Marita is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and received the award "Outstanding reviewer in the 2023 year of the journal". She teaches and supervises essays in external accounting from basic courses to postgraduate studies. She has previously worked as an authorized auditor and, as of 2017, has been elected to the board of the Accounting Board (BFN). Ongoing research takes place in close collaboration with industry. Marita is section leader for the accounting section.
