About Marta Segura Hudson

Marta Segura Hudson is an educator who has worked in upper-secondary classrooms in Gothenburg since 2007 as a teacher of English and Spanish. Additionally, she took on the role of lead teacher, focusing on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Gothenburg in the Dept. for Pedagogy and Special Pedagogy (IPS), where she is studying subject matter content with a focus on language learning. Her thesis work explores the integration of subject matter teaching and language via the development of subject literacy in English. Her wider research interests have to do with how language and linguistic resources are used as a medium of instruction and learning; questions surrounding intercultural communication and meaning-making; and the accessibility of education for multilingual students.
