I have an adjunct position in Music Education at the Academy of Music and Drama and hold a PhD in Arts Education. I defended my thesis in the fall of 2020. My research interest is especially focused on concepts and visual representations in music education, and on how they relate to practice-based engagement with music. My PhD-thesis investigated how students in an upper secondary music program learn the circle of fifths, a music-theoretical diagram they encounter during lessons in Aural Skills and Music Theory. I have a M.Ed. in Music and before I embarked on my PhD-studies I worked as a music teacher in primary and secondary school.
