Sonia Sunny is an internationally educated specialist with a master’s degree in community health nursing (2005) and a PhD in Nursing (2016). Her research centers on menopausal health interventions tailored to both rural and urban populations, reflecting her commitment to improving health outcomes through evidence-based approaches. Sonia’s clinical background began in a multispecialty hospital in Bengaluru, India, where she developed a strong foundation in patient care. Her international experience in surgical and aseptic nursing skills from Dubai enhanced infection control practices, advanced wound care, patient safety, and procedural competence, adding value to her role as a district nurse within the Swedish healthcare system when she migrated to Sweden in 2014. In Sweden, her work as a district nurse has further enriched her expertise in community and public health, emphasizing holistic, patient-centered care. As both an international academician and clinician, Sonia is passionate about integrating clinical practice with education of health professions to support evidence-based care for diverse populations.
