About Ylva Baeckström

Dr Ylva Baeckström is a former banker and fintech entrepreneur, now a psychotherapist, and academic at Kings College London Business School and the School of Business, Economics and Law at University of Gothenburg. Ylva is an expert in behavioural finance with a special interest in gender in finance, business and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about creating positive impact through her research, conveyed through her work with the Economic Equality Impact Group and the Swedish Community for Sustainable Finance. Ylva delivered a TEDx talk in 2020 and her first book ‘Gender Bias and Finance: Addressing Inequality in the Financial Services Industry’ will be published by Routledge in 2022. Her academic research includes publications in Journal of Corporate Finance, European Journal of Finance and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and is featured in the media, e.g., Financial Times, Sunday Times, Evening Standard, Professional Wealth Management. Ylva collaborates widely with financial services institutions.
