Center for Education and Research on Addiction

Center for Research and Education on Risk, Abuse and Addiction (CERA), is an interdisciplinary and partner-centered network at the University of Gothenburg, which works to strengthen and develop research and education in the dependency area and disseminate scientific knowledge to professionals in addiction and addiction care.

Researchers at CERA focus, among other things, on the bio-psycho-social factors that interact with why an addiction develops and what consequences it can lead to. The focus is also on developing various support and treatment interventions in addiction, and preventative interventions that reduce the risk of developing addiction problems and mental illness in the future. The researchers at CERA also work on collaboration issues and the implementation of scientific knowledge.
