Computer Science and Engineering

Computer Science and Engineering is a joint department at University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. We carry out education and research that spans a wide range of disciplines, from basic research to applications.

We educate for the future and create value for the society through our research, which is actualised and implemented in close collaboration with business and industry. We are convinced that computer science and computer technology are crucial factors in the quest for a sustainable society. Several of our researchers lead and participate in projects involving sustainability in different areas. The department also hosts two centres, the Chalmers AI Research Centre and the Software Center, both with close links to industry.
