Science and Information Technology
Lunch seminar with Martina Bellio, Norwegian University of Life Sciences
Lunch seminar with Martina Bellio, Norwegian University of Life Sciences
Martina Bellio, is a visiting PhD student from Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Martina is currently working on a project exploring the benefits of exercise on stress- and pain coping in Atlantic salmon.
This presentation will be about neurogenesis in fish, highlighting the cellular processes involved and the specific brain regions responsible for continuous neuron formation. Emphasis will be placed on the functional relevance of neurogenesis in supporting cognitive adaptability, behavioural regulation, and resilience to environmental changes, and how these insights can be useful in fish welfare research.
